Brush Up On Survival Skills

As much as we enjoy this season, it can sometimes take special skills to juggle schedules, parties and family events. And we don’t want the hustle and bustle of the season to cause you to neglect your regular checkups and cleanings in Cleveland, TX either! If you are ready to learn more about a different kind of “survival skill” we have a suggestion. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department offers a series of workshops in outdoor survival skills. If you want to learn more about outdoor medicine, this is your chance.

Where is the Survival Series: Outdoor Medicine Happening?

The class is in the park store classroom at Lake Livingston State Park, one mile south of Livingston, on US Hwy 59. It’s about 30 minutes from Cleveland, tX and about an hour from Houston. The park address is:

When is This Class?

The Outdoor Medicine class is being held on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019. The class is one hour long: from 10 – 11 am.

What Skills Will Be Covered?

The class is an introduction to medical skills that might be needed when camping or exploring the outdoors. It will cover

  • Scene safety
  • Biohazard safety
  • CPR
  • Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Legal Issues
  • And more

Is Their A Cost For The Class

Plan to pay the regular park admission of $5 per adult, ages 13 and up. There is no additional charge to attend this Texas Parks and Wildlife Department class.

Who Teaches This Class?

Ranger Joel will be the instructor.

What Else Should I Know?
