Each one is made from clear plastic, offering a nearly invisible solution to misalignment. They will fit comfortably to prevent gum and cheek irritation, and will also be removable, so you can take them out before meals or prior to brushing and flossing your teeth each day. Your day-to-day activities won’t have to change so much!
The Treatment Process
Basically, each set of aligners will be worn for about two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day on average. The exact time will depend on your dentist’s specifications. After about two weeks, you will upgrade to the next set in the series. Over time, they gradually begin to shift the teeth and improve overall alignment. The total treatment time varies, but is usually around a year for adults, and up to 18 months for our teenaged patients.
