If you have stained teeth, don’t just rely on store bought whitening strips or toothpastes. Instead, talk to your Cleveland, TX, dentist. Our professional teeth whitening systems can break up and remove stains, offering dramatic results that will last for months to come. In today’s blog, we’re going to focus on two options we provide to remove discoloration.
The Causes of Your Teeth Stains
Why do our smiles become so stained? Well, often factors in our daily life cause discoloration. Foods high in sugar and starch, combined with improper brushing and flossing, lead to plaque buildup and more visible discoloration. Drinks with dark pigments, such as coffee, red wine, soda, and tea, could also stain your smile. Smoking cigarettes or using other tobacco products is a factor too, as is a lack of dental cleanings to remove plaque buildup. When you see us, we will examine the smile to assess the cause and extent of the discoloration, and choose the most appropriate treatment option.
A Solution in Only Two Hours
If you need results quickly, for example, if you have a job interview or a date coming up, then we may suggest an in-office approach. When you come to the office, you will wear a pre-filled silicone tray that contains a powerful bleaching gel. An LED light then activates the gel and brightens the teeth. Optimal result only takes about 20 minutes! Next, we send you home with a special pen, which provides touchups to help your results last!
At-Home Trays and Gel
We also have an option you can use from home! We start by taking detailed impressions and images with digital technology, so we can create a set of trays that fit comfortably. We then send you home with these trays, along with a powerful bleaching gel. At home, you fill the trays with the gel and wear them for about 30 to 45 minutes a day, every day for one to two weeks. The trays ensure the saliva doesn’t dilute the gel, and provides even results across your teeth. For some, teeth could be brightened by several shades, up to eight! You then keep the trays and any remaining gel should you need touch-ups in the coming months. You can also help with a healthy diet, drinking more water, and brushing and flossing daily! If you have any questions about our approach to teeth whitening, or if you would like a consultation to see which is right for you, then give us a call!
