Ready For Brighter Teeth?

cleveland teeth whitening

Do you ever look in the mirror and wish your smile could be brighter? We understand, and that is why our office provides professional teeth whitening for more dramatic results. In today’s blog, your Cleveland, TX, dentist will explain how we brighten teeth by several shades, and how you can help your results last longer!

Whitening Your Smile at Home

We have an at-home option you can use that doesn’t rely on whitening strips or special toothpastes. The process begins with an office visit, in which we take detailed impressions and images of your smile to create a set of trays that fit comfortably. We then send you home with these trays and a special bleaching gel. At home, you will fill the tray with a powerful bleaching gel. Each day, the gel-filled trays will be worn for about 30 to 45 minutes on average, over a period of about a week to ten days. For many, teeth could be brightened by several different shades. You then keep your trays, and any remaining gel, for touch-ups in the coming months.

Results in Two Hours

We also have an office-based procedure that provides stunning results in as little as one to two hours. We begin by placing a protective covering over the lips and gums, and then applying the bleaching gel to the teeth. A light is used to activate the gel, and begin the process of breaking up and removing stains. This option is great if you need results before a special event!

Keeping Your Teeth Stain-Free

But what can be done following treatment to keep your teeth bright? Teeth stains can form for a number of different reasons. For example, plaque buildup caused by bacteria breaking down sugary food particles could make stains more visible. Instead, try to eat healthier snacks, and make time to brush and floss daily. You can also see us every six months for a cleaning, so we remove all buildup from your smile. Drinks with dark pigments could discolor teeth too, such as coffee, red wine, soda, and tea. Instead, try to drink more water, which contains no sugars, tannins, or acids. Smoking cigarette and using other tobacco products are also a source of stains, as well as an elevated cancer risk. We suggest quitting right away! If you have any questions about our teeth whitening treatment options, or about what you can do to lower the severity of stains in between cleaning visits, then contact our team today.
